Lee(リー)は、1889年にアメリカ・カンザス州で創業された、アメリカを代表するジーンズ・ワークウェアブランドです。創業後、オーバーオール、UNION-ALLS(ユニオンオール)、ワークジャケットなどの実用衣料を手がけるようになり、その後もカウボーイ向けウェア、Lee COWBOY、101シリーズ、RIDERS、101-J、101-LJ、STORM RIDER、WESTERNERなど、アメリカンワークウェアおよびデニムウェアの歴史を代表する数々のモデルを生み出してきました。現在も、ワークウェア由来の機能性やディテールを活かしながら、デニムを中心としたカジュアルウェアを展開しています。
そのLeeを代表するアイテムのひとつである、防寒仕様のデニムジャケット「STORM RIDER(ストームライダー)」の系譜を受け継いだメンズ・ブランケットライニング・デニムジャケットが、本製品「LM5110」です。表地には13オンスのインディゴデニム、内側にはウールを含むボーダー柄のブランケットライニングを使用し、ブラウン系コーデュロイの襟を組み合わせることで、防寒性と保温性を高めたデニムジャケットに仕上げられています。The H.D. Lee Company, Inc., U.S.A.のライセンスのもと、日本国内でLeeブランドを展開する株式会社エドウインによって企画され、ベトナムで製造されています。
本製品のデザインの基礎となっているのは、Leeを代表するRIDERS JACKET「101-J」です。101-Jは、それ以前のLee COWBOY JACKETの流れを受け継ぎながら、斜めに配置された左右の胸ポケット、前身頃の2本ラインのダーツ、ショート丈のボディ、セットインスリーブなどを特徴とするデニムジャケットとして確立されました。
その101-Jを基本とし、1940年代末には防寒性を高めたライニング付きモデル「101-LJ」が登場しました。101-LJでは、101-Jの基本的なフロントデザインやボディ構成を受け継ぎながら、内側に保温用のブランケットライニングを配し、襟にはコーデュロイ素材を採用することで、より高い保温性を備えた仕様へと発展しました。
その後、101-LJは「STORM RIDER(ストームライダー)」の名称で展開されるようになり、コーデュロイカラーとボーダー柄のブランケットライニングを組み合わせたスタイルは、Leeを代表する防寒仕様のデニムジャケットとして定着していきました。
本製品LM5110は、特定年代の101-LJやSTORM RIDERの仕様を細部まで忠実に再現したヴィンテージレプリカではなく、101-Jから101-LJ、そしてSTORM RIDERへと受け継がれてきた特徴的な意匠や構造を取り入れ、現代の着用に適したデニムジャケットとして再構築されたモデルです。
1950年代初期の101-LJには、ブランケットライニングの裾をウエストバンドへ縫い込まず、裾側に遊びを持たせた「フラシ仕様」など、初期モデル特有の構造が見られます。一方、本製品ではブランケットライニングの下端をウエストバンド部分へ縫い込んだ構造を採用し、襟内側にはSTORM RIDERを象徴するカウボーイと雪景色をモチーフとしたラベルが配されています。こうした仕様の違いを踏まえ、本製品は初期101-LJをそのまま復刻したものではなく、101-LJからSTORM RIDERへと受け継がれてきた特徴を取り入れながら、現代的な仕様へ再構築されたモデルとなっています。
表地には綿100%の13オンス・濃色インディゴデニムを使用しています。生地にはデニム特有のしっかりとした質感がありながら、適度なしなやかさも持ち合わせています。
仕上げ工程ではワンウォッシュ加工が施されています。この処理によって生地の初期の硬さが適度にほぐされ、未洗いのデニムと比較して、着用当初から馴染みやすい状態に整えられています。また、あらかじめ洗いをかけることで、未洗い製品と比べて購入後の洗濯によって生じる大きな初期収縮がある程度抑えられています。ただし、洗濯方法や乾燥条件、洗濯の繰り返しによっては、その後も多少の縮みが生じる場合があります。
着用と洗濯を重ねるにつれて、生地は少しずつ馴染み、袖の屈曲部、前立て、胸ポケット周辺、縫い目、袖口、裾など、身体の動きや摩擦を受けやすい部分には徐々にアタリが現れ、インディゴの色調にも濃淡が生まれていきます。濃色インディゴデニムならではの色落ちと、生地や縫製部分に現れる経年変化を楽しめることも本製品の特徴です。
身頃裏・袖裏には、ボーダー柄の起毛ブランケットライニングが使用されています。素材はリサイクルウールを含む混紡素材です。複数色のボーダーを組み合わせ、表面にはウール混素材らしい毛羽感や不均一なネップ感が見られます。このブランケットライニングは、衣服内に空気層をつくり、防寒性と保温性を高める役割を担っています。
フロントは6つのメタルボタンによるフルオープン仕様です。前立ては生地端を内側へ折り返して二重仕立てとし、補強を兼ねた構造に仕上げられています。その前立てには、Lee RIDERS JACKETを象徴するディテールのひとつである特徴的なジグザグ状のステッチワークが施されています。このステッチは、二重になった前立て部分を縫い押さえて安定させる実用的な役割を持つとともに、クラシックなLeeワークウェアらしい表情を生み出しています。ボタンホールは、前開きに対して横方向に設けられています。
襟にはブラウン系のコーデュロイを採用しています。デニムボディとは異なる素材を切り替えて使用することで、質感と色調にコントラストを持たせています。襟型はクラシックなポイントカラーで、独立した台襟を設けないスタンドレス構造です。襟はネックラインへ直接取り付けられており、ワークジャケットらしい構成に仕上げられています。また、コーデュロイ素材はデニムに比べて首周りへの当たりが柔らかく、着用時の肌当たりにも配慮されています。
フロント上部は、中央から脇方向へ斜めに上がるヨークで切り替えられ、そのラインに沿うように左右の胸ポケットが配置されています。左右の胸ポケットは、下側の角を丸く処理したパッチポケット構造で、ポケット本体の丸みと調和する曲線的なフラップを備えています。各フラップ中央にはボタンホールが設けられ、ポケット本体側に取り付けられたボタンで開閉できる仕様です。また、左胸ポケットのフラップ端には、Leeロゴ入りのブランドタブが縫い付けられています。
左右の胸ポケットからウエストバンド上までは、生地をつまむように折り込んで縫製した2本ラインのフロントダーツが設けられています。このダーツによって前身頃を立体的に成形するとともに、縦方向のラインを強調し、デザイン上のアクセントにもなっています。これは可動域を確保するために生地が開くアクションプリーツとは異なり、身頃の形状を整えるための構造です。
袖は、肩線に沿って身頃へ取り付けられたセットインスリーブ仕様です。袖口にはカフスを備え、メタルボタンを1個配したスリーブプラケット付きのシングルボタン仕様となっています。スリーブプラケットは、ボタンを外すことで袖口を広げることができ、着脱しやすい実用的な構造です。
各メタルボタンにはアンティーク加工が施され、真鍮調の落ち着いた金属色に仕上げられています。表面には「Lee RIDERS」の文字が刻印され、クラシックなLeeワークウェアらしいアクセントになっています。
背面上部はバックヨークで切り替え、その下は大きなセンターバックパネルと左右のサイドパネルを組み合わせたマルチパネル構造で仕立てられています。各パネルを縦方向に切り替えることで、背面の形状を整えています。
身頃裾のウエストバンド背面左右にはアジャストタブを取り付け、プラスチック製の猫目ボタンを使用したサイドアジャスターを備えています。アジャストタブの一端は本体へ縫い付けられ、反対側にはボタンホールが設けられています。通常時は外側のボタンに留めてタブを収め、内側のボタンへ掛け替えることでウエスト周りを絞ることができます。
襟内側には、STORM RIDERの名称とグラフィックを配したブランドラベルが縫い付けられています。

This men's blanket-lined denim jacket is made in Vietnam for Lee's Japanese-market collection and developed by EDWIN under license from The H.D. Lee Company, Inc., U.S.A. Its design draws on the lineage of Lee's 101-J Riders Jacket, the blanket-lined 101-LJ, and the later Storm Rider, bringing the recognizable construction and cold-weather character of these classic American denim jackets into a contemporary casual model.
The jacket combines a one-washed 13 oz cotton indigo denim shell with a brushed, striped wool-blend blanket lining through the body and sleeves and a contrasting brown corduroy point collar. A six-button front, zigzag-stitched folded plackets, angled chest pockets with curved buttoned flaps, sewn front darts, set-in sleeves with single-button cuffs, a multi-panel back, and buttoned waistband adjusters retain the characteristic details of the Riders Jacket design. Width (Chest Width / Half Chest): Lay the garment flat and measure straight across from side to side, approximately 3cm (about 1.2 in.) below the underarms.
Length (Body Length): Measured from the base of the back collar, where the collar joins the body, straight down to the bottom of the hem. The collar itself is not included in this measurement.

After its founding, the company began producing practical garments such as overalls, UNION-ALLS, and work jackets, and later developed numerous models closely associated with the history of American workwear and denim, including cowboy clothing, Lee COWBOY, the 101 series, RIDERS, the 101-J, 101-LJ, STORM RIDER, and WESTERNER. Today, Lee continues to produce denim-centered casual wear while incorporating functional details and construction rooted in traditional workwear.
The LM5110 is a men's blanket-lined denim jacket that carries forward the heritage of the STORM RIDER, one of Lee's signature insulated denim jackets. It combines a 13 oz indigo denim outer shell with a striped wool-blend blanket lining and a brown-toned corduroy collar, increasing insulation and warmth. The jacket is developed by EDWIN Co., Ltd., which operates the Lee brand in Japan, under license from The H.D. Lee Company, Inc., U.S.A., and is manufactured in Vietnam.
The design foundation of the LM5110 is Lee's iconic 101-J RIDERS JACKET. Developed from the earlier Lee COWBOY JACKET lineage, the 101-J became established as a distinctive denim jacket characterized by diagonally positioned chest pockets, two-line front darts, a short body length, and set-in sleeves.
From the Blanket-Lined 101-LJ to the Storm Rider
Based on the 101-J design, the blanket-lined 101-LJ appeared in the late 1940s as a version with increased cold-weather protection. While retaining the basic front design and body construction of the 101-J, the 101-LJ added an insulating blanket lining and adopted a corduroy collar in place of the denim collar, resulting in a warmer construction with greater insulation.
The 101-LJ was later offered under the STORM RIDER name, and the combination of a corduroy collar and striped blanket lining became established as one of Lee's characteristic insulated denim-jacket designs.
Contemporary Interpretation with a Secured Lining Hem
The LM5110 is not a vintage reproduction intended to faithfully duplicate every specification of a particular production year of the 101-LJ or STORM RIDER. Instead, it incorporates characteristic design and construction elements carried forward from the 101-J through the 101-LJ and STORM RIDER, reworked into a denim jacket suited to contemporary wear.
Certain early-1950s 101-LJ jackets used a free-hanging blanket-lining construction in which the lower edge of the lining was not sewn into the waistband, allowing some movement at the bottom of the lining. In contrast, the LM5110 secures the lower edge of the blanket lining into the waistband construction. Inside the collar, the jacket also features a label with the STORM RIDER name and artwork depicting a cowboy and a snowy landscape. Rather than reproducing an early 101-LJ exactly, the LM5110 incorporates features carried forward through the 101-LJ and later STORM RIDER while adapting them to a contemporary construction.
13 oz 100% Cotton Deep Indigo Denim Shell
The outer shell is made from 13 oz, 100% cotton deep indigo denim. The fabric retains a moderate degree of body and firmness while also offering a supple feel.
One-Wash Finish and Subsequent Shrinkage
A one-wash treatment is applied during the finishing process. This treatment eases some of the denim's initial stiffness, giving the fabric a more accommodating feel from the beginning compared with unwashed denim.
The initial wash also allows part of the fabric's early shrinkage to occur before sale, helping reduce the larger dimensional change normally associated with the first wash of an untreated garment. Some additional shrinkage may still occur depending on washing method, drying conditions, and repeated laundering.
Indigo Fading and Wear at Folds and Seams
With continued wear and washing, the denim gradually settles and develops variations in its indigo coloration. Areas exposed to frequent movement and friction, including the sleeve bends, front plackets, chest pocket areas, seams, cuffs, and hem, will gradually develop wear marks and lighter tones.
The fading and contrast that develop in the deep indigo denim, together with the changes that appear around the fabric and stitched areas, are characteristic of the garment's natural aging process.
Brushed Striped Recycled-Wool-Blend Blanket Lining
The body and sleeves are lined with a brushed striped blanket fabric made from a blend containing recycled wool. The lining combines multiple colored stripes and has the raised fibrous surface and irregular neps characteristic of a wool-blend blanket fabric.
The blanket lining helps create an insulating air layer inside the garment, increasing warmth and cold-weather protection.
Six-Button Front and Folded Plackets with Zigzag Stitching
The jacket has a full-opening front secured with six metal buttons. The front edges are turned inward to create a double-layer construction, reinforcing the plackets along the opening.
Lee's characteristic zigzag stitching is applied to the plackets. This stitching secures and stabilizes the doubled fabric while also creating one of the recognizable details associated with Lee RIDERS JACKET construction and classic Lee workwear. The buttonholes are positioned horizontally across the vertical front opening.
Brown Corduroy Point Collar without a Separate Collar Stand
The collar is made from brown-toned corduroy, creating a contrast in both texture and color against the denim body.
It has a classic point-collar shape and a standless construction, with no separate collar stand between the collar and neckline. The collar is attached directly to the neckline in a construction characteristic of traditional work jackets. Corduroy also provides a softer contact surface around the neck than denim, contributing to comfort where the collar comes into contact with the skin.
Angled Front Yokes and Rounded Chest Patch Pockets
The upper front is divided by yoke seams that rise diagonally from the center toward the sides, and the chest pockets are positioned in line with this angled construction.
Each chest pocket is an externally applied patch pocket with rounded lower corners and a curved flap shaped to complement the rounded form of the pocket body. A buttonhole is positioned at the center of each flap, allowing the flap to fasten over a button attached to the pocket body. A small Lee logo tab is sewn into the edge of the left chest pocket flap.
Sewn Front Darts for Body Shaping
Two-line front darts run from each chest pocket down to the upper edge of the waistband. These darts are formed by folding the body fabric inward and securing it with stitching.
The darts shape the front body three-dimensionally while emphasizing the vertical lines of the jacket and also serving as a visual design accent. They are not action pleats designed to open and provide additional range of motion; instead, they are a construction detail used to shape the front body.
Set-In Sleeve Construction
The sleeves use set-in construction and are attached to the body along defined shoulder seams.
Single-Button Cuffs with Sleeve Plackets
Each sleeve ends in a cuff with a single metal-button closure and a functional sleeve placket. When the button is released, the sleeve opening can spread wider, making the jacket easier to put on and take off.
Antiqued Lee RIDERS Metal Buttons
The metal buttons have an antiqued finish with a subdued brass-toned appearance. The face of each button is engraved with the "Lee RIDERS" name, adding a classic Lee workwear detail to the front closure, chest pockets, and cuffs.
Back Yoke and Multi-Panel Body Construction
The upper back is divided by a separate back yoke. Below the yoke, a large center-back panel is joined to side panels on the left and right, creating a multi-panel body construction.
The vertical panel seams help shape the back of the jacket and define its rear construction.
Rear Waistband Adjusters with Plastic Cat's-Eye Buttons
Adjustment tabs are positioned at the left and right sides of the rear waistband. One end of each tab is permanently sewn to the jacket, while the opposite end has a buttonhole and fastens to plastic cat's-eye buttons.
Under normal conditions, the tab is held at the outer button position. Moving it to the inner button position draws in the waistband, allowing the waist area to be tightened.
Storm Rider Label inside the Collar
Inside the collar, a brand label featuring the STORM RIDER name and graphic artwork is sewn into the jacket.

Care Instructions
- Machine wash on a gentle cycle at a maximum water temperature of 40°C / 104°F.

そのLeeを代表するアイテムのひとつである、防寒仕様のデニムジャケット「STORM RIDER(ストームライダー)」の系譜を受け継いだメンズ・ブランケットライニング・デニムジャケットが、本製品「LM5110」です。表地には13オンスのインディゴデニム、内側にはウールを含むボーダー柄のブランケットライニングを使用し、ブラウン系コーデュロイの襟を組み合わせることで、防寒性と保温性を高めたデニムジャケットに仕上げられています。The H.D. Lee Company, Inc., U.S.A.のライセンスのもと、日本国内でLeeブランドを展開する株式会社エドウインによって企画され、ベトナムで製造されています。
本製品のデザインの基礎となっているのは、Leeを代表するRIDERS JACKET「101-J」です。101-Jは、それ以前のLee COWBOY JACKETの流れを受け継ぎながら、斜めに配置された左右の胸ポケット、前身頃の2本ラインのダーツ、ショート丈のボディ、セットインスリーブなどを特徴とするデニムジャケットとして確立されました。
その101-Jを基本とし、1940年代末には防寒性を高めたライニング付きモデル「101-LJ」が登場しました。101-LJでは、101-Jの基本的なフロントデザインやボディ構成を受け継ぎながら、内側に保温用のブランケットライニングを配し、襟にはコーデュロイ素材を採用することで、より高い保温性を備えた仕様へと発展しました。
その後、101-LJは「STORM RIDER(ストームライダー)」の名称で展開されるようになり、コーデュロイカラーとボーダー柄のブランケットライニングを組み合わせたスタイルは、Leeを代表する防寒仕様のデニムジャケットとして定着していきました。
本製品LM5110は、特定年代の101-LJやSTORM RIDERの仕様を細部まで忠実に再現したヴィンテージレプリカではなく、101-Jから101-LJ、そしてSTORM RIDERへと受け継がれてきた特徴的な意匠や構造を取り入れ、現代の着用に適したデニムジャケットとして再構築されたモデルです。
1950年代初期の101-LJには、ブランケットライニングの裾をウエストバンドへ縫い込まず、裾側に遊びを持たせた「フラシ仕様」など、初期モデル特有の構造が見られます。一方、本製品ではブランケットライニングの下端をウエストバンド部分へ縫い込んだ構造を採用し、襟内側にはSTORM RIDERを象徴するカウボーイと雪景色をモチーフとしたラベルが配されています。こうした仕様の違いを踏まえ、本製品は初期101-LJをそのまま復刻したものではなく、101-LJからSTORM RIDERへと受け継がれてきた特徴を取り入れながら、現代的な仕様へ再構築されたモデルとなっています。
表地には綿100%の13オンス・濃色インディゴデニムを使用しています。生地にはデニム特有のしっかりとした質感がありながら、適度なしなやかさも持ち合わせています。
仕上げ工程ではワンウォッシュ加工が施されています。この処理によって生地の初期の硬さが適度にほぐされ、未洗いのデニムと比較して、着用当初から馴染みやすい状態に整えられています。また、あらかじめ洗いをかけることで、未洗い製品と比べて購入後の洗濯によって生じる大きな初期収縮がある程度抑えられています。ただし、洗濯方法や乾燥条件、洗濯の繰り返しによっては、その後も多少の縮みが生じる場合があります。
着用と洗濯を重ねるにつれて、生地は少しずつ馴染み、袖の屈曲部、前立て、胸ポケット周辺、縫い目、袖口、裾など、身体の動きや摩擦を受けやすい部分には徐々にアタリが現れ、インディゴの色調にも濃淡が生まれていきます。濃色インディゴデニムならではの色落ちと、生地や縫製部分に現れる経年変化を楽しめることも本製品の特徴です。
身頃裏・袖裏には、ボーダー柄の起毛ブランケットライニングが使用されています。素材はリサイクルウールを含む混紡素材です。複数色のボーダーを組み合わせ、表面にはウール混素材らしい毛羽感や不均一なネップ感が見られます。このブランケットライニングは、衣服内に空気層をつくり、防寒性と保温性を高める役割を担っています。
フロントは6つのメタルボタンによるフルオープン仕様です。前立ては生地端を内側へ折り返して二重仕立てとし、補強を兼ねた構造に仕上げられています。その前立てには、Lee RIDERS JACKETを象徴するディテールのひとつである特徴的なジグザグ状のステッチワークが施されています。このステッチは、二重になった前立て部分を縫い押さえて安定させる実用的な役割を持つとともに、クラシックなLeeワークウェアらしい表情を生み出しています。ボタンホールは、前開きに対して横方向に設けられています。
襟にはブラウン系のコーデュロイを採用しています。デニムボディとは異なる素材を切り替えて使用することで、質感と色調にコントラストを持たせています。襟型はクラシックなポイントカラーで、独立した台襟を設けないスタンドレス構造です。襟はネックラインへ直接取り付けられており、ワークジャケットらしい構成に仕上げられています。また、コーデュロイ素材はデニムに比べて首周りへの当たりが柔らかく、着用時の肌当たりにも配慮されています。
フロント上部は、中央から脇方向へ斜めに上がるヨークで切り替えられ、そのラインに沿うように左右の胸ポケットが配置されています。左右の胸ポケットは、下側の角を丸く処理したパッチポケット構造で、ポケット本体の丸みと調和する曲線的なフラップを備えています。各フラップ中央にはボタンホールが設けられ、ポケット本体側に取り付けられたボタンで開閉できる仕様です。また、左胸ポケットのフラップ端には、Leeロゴ入りのブランドタブが縫い付けられています。
左右の胸ポケットからウエストバンド上までは、生地をつまむように折り込んで縫製した2本ラインのフロントダーツが設けられています。このダーツによって前身頃を立体的に成形するとともに、縦方向のラインを強調し、デザイン上のアクセントにもなっています。これは可動域を確保するために生地が開くアクションプリーツとは異なり、身頃の形状を整えるための構造です。
袖は、肩線に沿って身頃へ取り付けられたセットインスリーブ仕様です。袖口にはカフスを備え、メタルボタンを1個配したスリーブプラケット付きのシングルボタン仕様となっています。スリーブプラケットは、ボタンを外すことで袖口を広げることができ、着脱しやすい実用的な構造です。
各メタルボタンにはアンティーク加工が施され、真鍮調の落ち着いた金属色に仕上げられています。表面には「Lee RIDERS」の文字が刻印され、クラシックなLeeワークウェアらしいアクセントになっています。
背面上部はバックヨークで切り替え、その下は大きなセンターバックパネルと左右のサイドパネルを組み合わせたマルチパネル構造で仕立てられています。各パネルを縦方向に切り替えることで、背面の形状を整えています。
身頃裾のウエストバンド背面左右にはアジャストタブを取り付け、プラスチック製の猫目ボタンを使用したサイドアジャスターを備えています。アジャストタブの一端は本体へ縫い付けられ、反対側にはボタンホールが設けられています。通常時は外側のボタンに留めてタブを収め、内側のボタンへ掛け替えることでウエスト周りを絞ることができます。

This men's blanket-lined denim jacket is made in Vietnam for Lee's Japanese-market collection and developed by EDWIN under license from The H.D. Lee Company, Inc., U.S.A. Its design draws on the lineage of Lee's 101-J Riders Jacket, the blanket-lined 101-LJ, and the later Storm Rider, bringing the recognizable construction and cold-weather character of these classic American denim jackets into a contemporary casual model.
The jacket combines a one-washed 13 oz cotton indigo denim shell with a brushed, striped wool-blend blanket lining through the body and sleeves and a contrasting brown corduroy point collar. A six-button front, zigzag-stitched folded plackets, angled chest pockets with curved buttoned flaps, sewn front darts, set-in sleeves with single-button cuffs, a multi-panel back, and buttoned waistband adjusters retain the characteristic details of the Riders Jacket design. Lee was founded in Kansas, USA, in 1889 and has grown into one of America's best-known jeans and workwear brands. After its founding, the company began producing practical garments such as overalls, UNION-ALLS, and work jackets, and later developed numerous models closely associated with the history of American workwear and denim, including cowboy clothing, Lee COWBOY, the 101 series, RIDERS, the 101-J, 101-LJ, STORM RIDER, and WESTERNER. Today, Lee continues to produce denim-centered casual wear while incorporating functional details and construction rooted in traditional workwear.
The LM5110 is a men's blanket-lined denim jacket that carries forward the heritage of the STORM RIDER, one of Lee's signature insulated denim jackets. It combines a 13 oz indigo denim outer shell with a striped wool-blend blanket lining and a brown-toned corduroy collar, increasing insulation and warmth. The jacket is developed by EDWIN Co., Ltd., which operates the Lee brand in Japan, under license from The H.D. Lee Company, Inc., U.S.A., and is manufactured in Vietnam.
The design foundation of the LM5110 is Lee's iconic 101-J RIDERS JACKET. Developed from the earlier Lee COWBOY JACKET lineage, the 101-J became established as a distinctive denim jacket characterized by diagonally positioned chest pockets, two-line front darts, a short body length, and set-in sleeves.
From the Blanket-Lined 101-LJ to the Storm Rider
Based on the 101-J design, the blanket-lined 101-LJ appeared in the late 1940s as a version with increased cold-weather protection. While retaining the basic front design and body construction of the 101-J, the 101-LJ added an insulating blanket lining and adopted a corduroy collar in place of the denim collar, resulting in a warmer construction with greater insulation.
The 101-LJ was later offered under the STORM RIDER name, and the combination of a corduroy collar and striped blanket lining became established as one of Lee's characteristic insulated denim-jacket designs.
Contemporary Interpretation with a Secured Lining Hem
The LM5110 is not a vintage reproduction intended to faithfully duplicate every specification of a particular production year of the 101-LJ or STORM RIDER. Instead, it incorporates characteristic design and construction elements carried forward from the 101-J through the 101-LJ and STORM RIDER, reworked into a denim jacket suited to contemporary wear.
Certain early-1950s 101-LJ jackets used a free-hanging blanket-lining construction in which the lower edge of the lining was not sewn into the waistband, allowing some movement at the bottom of the lining. In contrast, the LM5110 secures the lower edge of the blanket lining into the waistband construction. Inside the collar, the jacket also features a label with the STORM RIDER name and artwork depicting a cowboy and a snowy landscape. Rather than reproducing an early 101-LJ exactly, the LM5110 incorporates features carried forward through the 101-LJ and later STORM RIDER while adapting them to a contemporary construction.
13 oz 100% Cotton Deep Indigo Denim Shell
The outer shell is made from 13 oz, 100% cotton deep indigo denim. The fabric retains a moderate degree of body and firmness while also offering a supple feel.
One-Wash Finish and Subsequent Shrinkage
A one-wash treatment is applied during the finishing process. This treatment eases some of the denim's initial stiffness, giving the fabric a more accommodating feel from the beginning compared with unwashed denim.
The initial wash also allows part of the fabric's early shrinkage to occur before sale, helping reduce the larger dimensional change normally associated with the first wash of an untreated garment. Some additional shrinkage may still occur depending on washing method, drying conditions, and repeated laundering.
Indigo Fading and Wear at Folds and Seams
With continued wear and washing, the denim gradually settles and develops variations in its indigo coloration. Areas exposed to frequent movement and friction, including the sleeve bends, front plackets, chest pocket areas, seams, cuffs, and hem, will gradually develop wear marks and lighter tones.
The fading and contrast that develop in the deep indigo denim, together with the changes that appear around the fabric and stitched areas, are characteristic of the garment's natural aging process.
Brushed Striped Recycled-Wool-Blend Blanket Lining
The body and sleeves are lined with a brushed striped blanket fabric made from a blend containing recycled wool. The lining combines multiple colored stripes and has the raised fibrous surface and irregular neps characteristic of a wool-blend blanket fabric.
The blanket lining helps create an insulating air layer inside the garment, increasing warmth and cold-weather protection.
Six-Button Front and Folded Plackets with Zigzag Stitching
The jacket has a full-opening front secured with six metal buttons. The front edges are turned inward to create a double-layer construction, reinforcing the plackets along the opening.
Lee's characteristic zigzag stitching is applied to the plackets. This stitching secures and stabilizes the doubled fabric while also creating one of the recognizable details associated with Lee RIDERS JACKET construction and classic Lee workwear. The buttonholes are positioned horizontally across the vertical front opening.
Brown Corduroy Point Collar without a Separate Collar Stand
The collar is made from brown-toned corduroy, creating a contrast in both texture and color against the denim body.
It has a classic point-collar shape and a standless construction, with no separate collar stand between the collar and neckline. The collar is attached directly to the neckline in a construction characteristic of traditional work jackets. Corduroy also provides a softer contact surface around the neck than denim, contributing to comfort where the collar comes into contact with the skin.
Angled Front Yokes and Rounded Chest Patch Pockets
The upper front is divided by yoke seams that rise diagonally from the center toward the sides, and the chest pockets are positioned in line with this angled construction.
Each chest pocket is an externally applied patch pocket with rounded lower corners and a curved flap shaped to complement the rounded form of the pocket body. A buttonhole is positioned at the center of each flap, allowing the flap to fasten over a button attached to the pocket body. A small Lee logo tab is sewn into the edge of the left chest pocket flap.
Sewn Front Darts for Body Shaping
Two-line front darts run from each chest pocket down to the upper edge of the waistband. These darts are formed by folding the body fabric inward and securing it with stitching.
The darts shape the front body three-dimensionally while emphasizing the vertical lines of the jacket and also serving as a visual design accent. They are not action pleats designed to open and provide additional range of motion; instead, they are a construction detail used to shape the front body.
Set-In Sleeve Construction
The sleeves use set-in construction and are attached to the body along defined shoulder seams.
Single-Button Cuffs with Sleeve Plackets
Each sleeve ends in a cuff with a single metal-button closure and a functional sleeve placket. When the button is released, the sleeve opening can spread wider, making the jacket easier to put on and take off.
Antiqued Lee RIDERS Metal Buttons
The metal buttons have an antiqued finish with a subdued brass-toned appearance. The face of each button is engraved with the "Lee RIDERS" name, adding a classic Lee workwear detail to the front closure, chest pockets, and cuffs.
Back Yoke and Multi-Panel Body Construction
The upper back is divided by a separate back yoke. Below the yoke, a large center-back panel is joined to side panels on the left and right, creating a multi-panel body construction.
The vertical panel seams help shape the back of the jacket and define its rear construction.
Rear Waistband Adjusters with Plastic Cat's-Eye Buttons
Adjustment tabs are positioned at the left and right sides of the rear waistband. One end of each tab is permanently sewn to the jacket, while the opposite end has a buttonhole and fastens to plastic cat's-eye buttons.
Under normal conditions, the tab is held at the outer button position. Moving it to the inner button position draws in the waistband, allowing the waist area to be tightened.
Storm Rider Label inside the Collar
Inside the collar, a brand label featuring the STORM RIDER name and graphic artwork is sewn into the jacket.

The jacket is developed by EDWIN Co., Ltd., which operates the Lee brand in Japan, under license from The H.D. Lee Company, Inc., U.S.A., and is manufactured in Vietnam.
The LM5110 is based on Lee's iconic 101-J RIDERS JACKET and incorporates characteristic elements developed through the blanket-lined 101-LJ and the later STORM RIDER, including the corduroy collar and blanket lining. These established Lee details are brought together in a contemporary model intended for everyday wear.
Care Instructions
- Machine wash on a gentle cycle at a maximum water temperature of 40°C / 104°F.
- Do not use chlorine bleach or oxygen bleach.
- Do not tumble dry.
- Hang to dry in the shade.
- Iron with a pressing cloth at a maximum soleplate temperature of 150°C / 302°F.
- Do not dry clean.
- Professional wet cleaning using a very gentle process is permitted.
The garment has been washed once during finishing. Some additional shrinkage may still occur depending on the washing method, drying conditions, and repeated laundering. Please always follow the care instructions attached to the actual product.
Due to the nature of indigo-dyed products, dye may transfer to other clothing, bags, furniture, or other surfaces through friction during wear or when the garment becomes damp from perspiration or rain. Please take particular care when wearing the jacket with white or light-colored clothing or using it near light-colored items.
Wash separately from other garments, as indigo dye may be released during laundering. To help prevent discoloration, do not use bleach or detergents containing bleaching agents. Prolonged exposure to sunlight or artificial lighting may also cause discoloration or fading, so please take care when storing the garment.
Important Notes
The Lee logo buttons used on this jacket are not installed with the logo aligned in a uniform direction. The orientation of the "Lee" lettering may therefore vary between button positions and individual garments. This is part of the product specification and is not a defect.
